Gurnee Counseling Center (GCC) has been proudly providing mental health services to the community since 1986. With a dedication to community, GCC continues to build and maintain strong relationships with local schools, churches, physicians, and community leaders to work towards a common goal – building healthy skills to last a lifetime. As a multi-disciplinary practice with psychologists, social workers, and counselors on staff; GCC can treat the whole family in a warm, welcoming environment.
Gurnee Counseling Center is committed to fostering positive change in our community towards equity, inclusion, and justice for marginalized groups. We are committed to affirming and supporting clients with diverse sexuality, gender, orientation, neurology, and/or relationship styles. Our therapists hold training and expertise in working with people who are LGBTQIA+, gender expansive, neurologically atypical, and/or in alternative relationships. Our clinicians support and affirm religious and spiritual diversity. We, as a practice, empower clients to live authentically with integrity and compassion.
We intentionally designed our counseling rooms to be bright, comfortable, and private. To complement our counseling services, we have dedicated a meeting area where we offer stress reduction classes like yoga, tai chi, and meditation.
We proudly offer telehealth services through a HIPAA compliant platform to offer additional accessibility to our community. All our therapists are licensed in Illinois and therefore clients need to be located in Illinois during their telehealth session. One therapist, Larisa Leader, is licensed in Wisconsin and can provide telehealth services to those in Wisconsin.
